MBBS, MSc, FRCPsych.  Chairman of the British Medical Association's Medico-Legal Committee.  Dr Wise prepares an average of 60 reports a year.

Research Interests:  Forensic based, specifically the interface of law with psychiatric practice and medically unexplained symptoms.  Since 2001 Dr Wise has lectured, and ran Workshops at National and International Conferences on subjects including capacity and fitness to drive.  Author of 2 textbooks, over 60 articles, and a web-based learning resource released through BMJ Learning. Dr Wise has also ‘appeared’ on Radio and print Media on psychiatric matters.  He is a consultant adviser t the American Psychiatric Association on DSM-5

Relevant Experience:  Dr Wise has held a CCST since April 2002.  Dr Wise is a consultant for a busy inner city area, responsible for the assessment of over 300 new referrals a year and providing long term care for over 130 patients with severe and enduring mental illnesses.  Dr Wise ran the perinatal and liaison psychiatry service for Hammersmith Hospital for 18 months. Dr Wise is Chair of the British Medical Associations Medico-Legal Committee.  He regularly liaises with the Ministry of Justice, the Civil Justice Council, and the Department of Health.
