Geoff has acted as commercial and contractual adviser to the World Bank presenting their case to a Dispute Resolution Board in China; appeared as a quantum expert witness in a recent case in the High Court in London; appeared as quantum expert in an arbitration relating to wrongful termination; prepared quantum expert report in respect of an oil pipeline/marine terminal project in East Africa; represented contractors in arbitration in Taiwan and various other appointments.

Geoff is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over thirty five years professional experience in the construction industry, dealing with all aspects including budgets, cost plans, cash flow, procurement, contract documentation, financial administration, claims, dispute resolution, arbitration support and expert witness reports on Traditional, Design and Build and Management Type contracts on behalf of Developers, Project Managers, Contractors and Sub-Contractors in the UK and Overseas on Building and Civil Engineering projects.

Geoff has many years of experience dealing with all aspects of claim submissions, claim defence and dispute resolution on a range of civil engineering and building projects including hydro-electric dam storage projects, process facilities, pipelines, marine works, expressways, reclamations, water supply, submarine pipelines and a wide range of building projects presenting and defending cases in dispute resolution including arbitration support, preparation of expert witness reports and appearance as an expert witness in both arbitration and litigation.


Particular assignments include:

•World Bank adviser in the preparation of documentation and attendance at hearings of Dispute Resolution Board on Xiaolangdi Power and Flood Protection Dam Project under FIDIC conditions;
•Preparation of report in respect of viability for proposed new National Stadium in Ireland;
•preparation of expert witness report and appearance as expert witness in the High Court in the UK in respect of a sewage treatment plant failing to meet design criteria;
•claims preparation and support in arbitration on road and tunnel project forming part of Taiwan Expressway system;
•preparation of expert witness report for international arbitration in respect of oil pipeline, pumping stations and marine terminal in Sudan;
•preparation of expert witness report and appearance as expert witness in respect of alleged wrongful determination;
•preparation of expert witness reports in respect of variations and final accounts;
•claims preparation for telecom project in Abu Dhabi;
•claims preparation in respect of oil pipeline in Thailand;
•claims preparation and preparation for arbitration in respect of major waste and sewerage scheme in Bangkok;
•claims preparation in contemplation of arbitration proceedings on gas process plant in Hong Kong;
•claims preparation in respect of submarine pipeline;
•claims preparation in respect of cable stay bridge project in respect of designer's default;
•claims preparation on behalf of contractor for reclamation project in Hong Kong;
