Clinical Senior Lecturer Queen Mary, University of London Barts and The London School of Medicine, Institute of Cancer and Honorary Consultant Surgeon (Breast Unit Lead) Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
I am a general surgeon with nearly forty years experience specialising in breast disease but other interests include hernia, abdominal disease, minor trauma, such as whiplash injuries, and urology.
I provide medico-legal reports for Doctors Chambers, Mobile Doctors, Forensic Healthcare Services, Speed Medical Examination Services. I have also supplied reports to many individual solicitors, including from Ireland, and a list can be provided.
I can see clients in central London, North London and Guildford and am prepared to travel elsewhere if necessary.
I regularly attend medico-legal updating courses and seminars such as those of Bond Solon and The Expert Witness Institute.
Career:
I qualified from Bristol University and trained in Bristol and at St. Mary's, London. I am in my mid sixties and have have had a very varied and wide-ranging medical career which has given me a broad, mature outlook.
I began postgraduate training as a general practitioner, switched to a hospital career with an interest in trauma and orthopaedics (including time in neuro-surgery and thoracic surgery) and then switched to general surgery and urology. I spent one year as a consultant urologist at Charing Cross University Hospital before leaving the NHS to work full time in private practice because I wished to give my patients time and personal attention.
After fifteen years I reduced my private practice clinical load and returned to the National Health Service as a locum consultant general surgeon. I was appointed Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Barts Hospital and Consultant Lead Breast Surgeon at Homerton University Hospital on 1 May 2007. I specialise in breast disease but other interests include hernia, abdominal disease, including major abdominal trauma, and minor orthopaedic trauma such as whiplash and minor back problems and urology.
I have 59 publications/presentations in peer reviewed international medical periodicals and at large medical meetings and numerous other local articles and presentations. I can send my CV, a sample report and terms by return post or email. Please telephone to discuss a potential case at no charge if you wish.
