I undertake approximately one hundred and twenty medico legal assessments per annum. Ten to twenty percent of these are in criminal matters; the rest are in civil litigation.  Of those undertaken in civil litigation, approximately twenty to thirty per cent have been instructed by defendants and seventy to eighty per cent are for the plaintiff. Currently ten to twenty per cent are jointly instructed. I undertake work in the field of general adult psychiatry with specific reference to post traumatic  stress reactions, reaction to physical injury and negligence.  I  have experience in assessments for mental capacity, child protection and in obstetric cases. I  also have expertise in cases of work related stress claims, and Disability Discrimination claims.
