Dr Emmerson joined the Home Office in 1970 where he spent 16 years as an expert witness dealing mainly with cases involving burglary, drugs/toxicology and alcohol related matters.

He resigned from the Home Office in order to enter private practice. He now has in excess of 30 years' experience as an expert witness and is of proven ability in both the laboratory and court.

Dr Emmerson is a Registered Forensic Practitioner in the following areas: alcohol technical defence, drugs, footwear marks, glass, marks, particulates and other traces plus toxicology.
