Experience

John is a senior partner in KPMG and chairs the forensic practice. He has worked on assignments in the USA, Canada, Jordan, Sierra Leone, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Hong Kong, Argentina, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Lebanon, France and Denmark, including 8 cases where the amount in dispute exceeded £500 million.

John has testified on some 30 occasions, principally in share/business valuation and loss of profits cases.

John has acted as Independent Observer appointed by the European Commission  to lead teams supervising the European aspects of the mergers between Exxon and Mobil; AOL and Time Warner: Alcan/Pechiney and CVRD/Mitsui.

John was appointed with legal powers by the former Securities and Futures Authority to investigate alleged wrongdoing at a major US investment bank.

John was appointed by both parties as an Independent Expert to determine a dispute on 12 occasions. Recently responsible for resolving a $120m dispute in Tanzania.  He is sitting as an ICC arbitrator in various cases.
