Thirty-five years work experience in the trucking industry
at all levels of management, including Vice President/General
Manager and Chief Operating Officer, as well part-owner
of 2 trucking companies.
Have
worked for fleet operators that include dry van, refrigerated
van, flatbed, tank carrier, less-than-truckload (LTL) and
truckload carriers. Experienced in training drivers, dock
personnel, loading/unloading techniques. I have developed
and implemented fleet safety programs for various sizes
of carriers, ranging from fleets of 20 trucks up to 600
trucks.
I have
served as expert witness for plaintiff and defendant attorneys,
that include testimony in 60-80 cases in states from Maine
to Florida, from Georgia to Montana. I have experience in
state and federal court cases.
I also
serve as transportation consultant to 10-12 individual companies
in developing and implementing safety and accident prevention
programs.
I am a Certified Director of Safety, a Certified Driver
Trainer and a Certified Accident Investigator by American
Trucking Association. I have been recognzied as Safety Director
of the Year and Trucking Executive of the Year, both in
the State of Alabama. I received special commendation from
the governor of the State of Alabama for special services
related to highway safety and promoting accident frequencies
within the trucking industry.
I have
testified or served as consultant to attorneys in matters
such as driver hiring, training and supervision, DOT compliance,
loading/unloading of freight, driver fatigue and driver
negligence, as well as negligence on the part of employers
in the control or lack of control of their driver work force.
I have
never been disqualified as an expert witness in either state
or federal court.
My
clients have included tank trailer operators, dump truck
operations, construction work place accidents, garbage truck
accidents, bus accidents and smaller fleet truck accidents
that were less than 18-wheelers but were under state or
federal regulations.
