Description of expertise: I am a chartered psychologist with clinical & forensic specialties, a registered psychotherapist & a BAC-accredited counsellor • I am also a qualified teacher & special needs teacher • I can (& frequently do) accept instructions on matters regarding the ascertainment of psychological problems, the measurement of intelligence, brain damage, intellectual impairment & the treatment of mental illnesses • I do risk assessment in child protection cases • Experience of working with both perpetrators & victims of child abuse • My particular interest is in shock, trauma & recovery, & have helped many people to, for example, gain financial help after traumatic incidents, especially when post-traumatic stress disorder is present • I have experience of working with a wide range of criminal cases, including a range of sexual & violent offences • My research has been into violent sexual offenders, female offenders & learning difficulties
